DESCRIZIONE – DESCRIPTION:
Il Palazzo Bernardi è molto importante perché costruito all’epoca della transizione tra il modo gotico e lo stile rinascimentale, ed è tutelato dalla Soprintendenza ai beni artistici e architettonici. La parte inferiore della facciata presenta due portali archiacuti in corrispondenza degli accessi al canale, e altre caratteristiche originali come il porta lume in pietra d’Istria. Nonostante vari interventi eseguiti in passato, la muratura in facciata si trovava in pessime condizioni di conservazione, in certi punti i laterizi si erano completamente disfatti. Alcuni conci in pietra del portale avevano perso sia la loro forma che la funzione strutturale, tanto che il passaggio era ormai pericoloso. Siamo intervenuti con interventi di risanamento della muratura mediante la tecnica dello scuci/cuci dei laterizi e la sostituzione dei due conci di pietra dell’arco originale oramai irrecuperabili.
The Palazzo Bernardi is very important because it was built at the time of the transition between the Gothic style and the Renaissance style, and is protected by the Superintendency of artistic and architectural heritage. The lower part of the façade has two ogival portals in correspondence with the accesses to the canal, and other original features such as the Istria stone light bearer. Despite several interventions carried out in the past, the masonry on the façade was in very poor condition of conservation, in some places the bricks were completely eroded. Some stone blocks of the portal had lost both their shape and the structural function, so that the passage was now dangerous. We intervened with the restoration of the masonry using the technique of the scuci / cuci of bricks and the replacement of the two stone blocks of the original arch that were irrecoverable.
